Once in a Blue Moon at Home: Recipe Ideas!

At The Land Trust for Tennessee, we are fortunate to call Jack Daniel’s a true partner. Together, we have worked to conserve family farms around the iconic Lynchburg landscape and received great support from their team as a fellow Tennessee business who cares about its community.

Jack Daniel’s has consistently held the title of Presenting Sponsor for Once in a Blue Moon, and true to form, they returned this year to support Once in a Blue Moon at Home.

“Connections to open space have never been more important and The Land Trust is doing its part to save places we can’t afford to lose,” said Larry Combs, Senior Vice President & General Manager for Jack Daniel’s Global Supply Chain. “This group is helping to protect the farms that that make Lynchburg special, forests on the Cumberland Plateau, and parks in West Tennessee. We’re proud to support them again this year.”

To help us ring in #BlueMoonatHome, our friends at Jack Daniel’s provided some ideas for a few signature beverages suitable for a fall Tennessee evening outside around the bonfire.

Both of these recipe ideas also work great as a mocktail. Simply leave out the Jack Daniel’s and follow the rest of the steps!

TENNESSEE TODDY

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Jack Daniel’s® Old No. 7
  • 1/2 oz Local Honey
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
  • 8 oz Hot Water
  • 1 Black Tea Bag
  • Cinnamon Stick

Method

  1. Brew tea with hot water
  2. Add Jack Daniel’s
  3. Stir in honey & lemon juice
  4. Garnish with cinnamon stick

HOWLIN’ AT THE MOON

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Jack Daniel’s® Old No. 7
  • 6 oz Ginger Beer
  • 1/2 oz Lime Juice
  • Ice

Method

  1. Fill highball glass with ice
  2. Pour Jack Daniel’s over ice
  3. Add ginger beer & lime juice
  4. Stir & garnish with lime wedge
