Nashville Tree Foundation’s “Tree Spree” Hosted at Glen Leven Farm
November 13 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm CST
The winners of the Nashville Tree Foundation’s Big Old Tree Contest will be announced at a family-friendly “Tree Spree” event on at The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Glen Leven farm. The 64-acres of open space will serve as the perfect setting for this celebration of trees as Glen Leven Farm is home to several past Big Old Tree Contest winners and was designated as an arboretum by the Nashville Tree Foundation in 2012.
The “Tree Spree” is free to the public and open to all ages. Activities will include tours of Glen Leven Farm, tree-themed activities for kids, tours, and more.
The Nashville Tree Foundation’s Big Old Tree Contest is a perennial favorite among Nashville’s tree lovers. The Big Old Tree Contest encourages Nashvillians to appreciate and protect our community’s magnificent trees. Since the contest began in 1988, it has recognized over 800 trees and continues to grow in popularity with nearly 100 entries this year.
Community members are invited to enjoy this unique property and learn about the important role trees play in protecting the environmental and social well-being of our community. This is a great opportunity to visit and enjoy The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Glen Leven Farm, which is not regularly open to the public.
