April Community Day: Arboretum Tours!
Just 10 minutes south of Nashville, The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Glen Leven Farm offers a unique opportunity to get outdoors without going far. One Saturday a month, we host Community Days, a free event where you can explore all 64 acres of this historic Nashville landscape.
This month, The Land Trust for Tennessee will be hosting tours of the certified arboretum at Glen Leven Farm. Glen Leven has over 25 different species of trees and shrubs that are labeled for public enjoyment and education. The arboretum includes one of the largest masses of American Yellowwood in the United States, a White Ash, a Basswood, an American Beech, a Dogwood, a Ginkgo, a Black Walnut, a Sugar Maple, a Chinkapin Oak, a Shingle Oak, a Pecan, and a Hedge Maple, all of which are past winners of the Nashville Tree Foundation’s Big Old Tree Contest.
During your visit, explore the scenic property, hike our 1.4-mile Nature Trail, and take in the beauty of open fields, forests, and Brown’s Creek. Also, be sure to stop by and say hello to our friendly miniature donkeys, Chaplin and Figaro! Whether you’re looking for a quiet escape, a family outing, or a chance to connect with nature, Community Day offers an experience for everyone.
