Recap: Conservation Classic 2026
On August 22, 2026, over 75 local sport shooters gathered at the Nashville Gun Club for a day of clay-shooting, good food, and camaraderie, all for a cause close to the heart of many outdoor enthusiasts: conservation.
The event marked the second year of The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Conservation Classic, a clay shoot supporting our mission to protect Tennessee’s irreplaceable landscapes for future generations.
New and returning guests alike began the day at the Nashville Gun Club, over coffee and donuts from The Salty. Then, the day’s main event began as teams headed out on the professionally designed 100-target clay course.
With the course nestled in a shaded area near the river, the teams enjoyed a beautiful outdoor setting while cruising between stations and putting their shooting skills to the test. Throughout the morning, Land Trust employees visited the teams with snacks and cold beverages to help keep the shooters cool.
After the final clays were shot, participants returned to the clubhouse to celebrate together over a freshly prepared barbecue lunch by Black Hawk Farms, applaud the winning teams, and bid in a curated live auction. The auction items included:
- A fly-fishing trip to Boulder, Colorado
- A Beretta A400 upland shotgun
- A Beretta 694 DLC shotgun
- A whiskey tasting for six at Whiskey House Nashville, the largest collection of open whiskey bottles in the United States
Finally, several Land Trust speakers took the stage to remind the audience of the event’s purpose: protecting the farms, forests, open spaces, waterways, and historic places that give Tennessee its unique character. Every ticket, sponsorship, bid, and contribution helps The Land Trust continue this important work across our state.
