The gate will generally be held open for volunteer and public events. If it is closed\, please use the call button on the gate box.  \n\nVolunteers will meet on the porch to sign waivers and get started.\n\n\nVolunteers will use uprooters\, loppers\, & shovels to remove bush honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii)\nfrom our landscape so native species can thrive.\nWe will have water (bring your own bottle if you can!) and work gloves on hand.\nWe do recommend you dress in layers for the weather and wear closed toe shoes and long pants.\n\nSign up through Hands On Nashville.

DESCRIPTION:June Community Day: Birding with our friends from Radnor Lake!\n10 minutes south of downtown Nashville\, you’ll find The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Glen Leven Farm. One Saturday a month\, we host Community Days so you can explore all 64 acres of this unique Nashville landscape for free.  \nWe’re excited to have our neighbors from Radnor Lake State Park at the farm for June’s Community Day! Ranger Matthew Bowling will lead two birding hikes: the first at 8 a.m. and the second at 11 a.m. CT. The hike will follow the 1.5-mile Nature Trail around the farm to look for signs of summer and migrating birds. While this is an easy hike\, we recommend you wear closed-toe shoes\, pack a bottle of water\, and bring binoculars if you’d like them \nGrab your friends and register for free!

DESCRIPTION:Join us as we partner with Weed Wrangle® and The Garden Club of Nashville to remove non-native species at The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Glen Leven Farm! This opportunity allows you to learn more about our 64-acre farm\, which is not regularly open to the public.   \n\n\n\nVolunteers will use uprooters\, loppers\, & shovels to remove bush honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii) from our landscape so native species can thrive. \nWe will have water (bring your own bottle if you can!) and work gloves on hand. \nWe do recommend you dress in layers for the weather and wear closed toe shoes and long pants.\n\n\nThe Land Trust for Tennessee’s mission is “To preserve the unique character of Tennessee’s national and historic landscapes and sites for future generations.” Founded in 1999 by conservation-minded citizens\, The Land Trust for Tennessee works with communities\, landowners\, families\, governments\, and partner organizations and businesses to identify and save important natural and historic places.
