SUMMARY:Brown's Creek Cleanup with Patagonia Nashville
DESCRIPTION:Our waterways are like arteries and veins for the earth. They should bring life to everything they touch. But disruptors such as litter and chemical run-off negatively affect aquatic ecosystems and all life that relies on them. \nThe Land Trust for Tennessee is dedicated to conserving Tennessee’s unique natural and historic landscapes and sites for future generations. We exemplify that mission with our stewardship of The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Glen Leven Farm\, a historic 64-acre farm 4 miles south of downtown Nashville. The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Glen Leven Farm features forest\, open fields\, and the east fork of Brown’s Creek\, which runs into the Cumberland River and Cheatham Reservoir\, the source of much of Nashville’s water. \nThe Land Trust for Tennessee is excited to partner with Patagonia Nashville to make a splash with a series of Brown’s Creek Cleanup events. During this limited volunteering series\, we’ll practice responsible and sustainable land and water management strategies that you can implement in your own community. \nSign up through Hands on Nashville. \nWhen you sign up and attend\, you will be entered to win a Patagonia giveaway on the day of the opportunity. \nCreek Clean-Up tasks will include: \n\nLitter removal\nInvasive species removal\nCreek wall reinforcement\n\nVolunteers should be prepared for tasks in and around water. Wading gear\, bug spray\, and sunscreen will be provided as needed. Please wear long pants and water-appropriate closed-toe shoes (waterproof work boots are ideal). \nAbout The Land Trust for Tennessee:\nThe Land Trust for Tennessee is a conservation organization working statewide to protect land important to the people of Tennessee. From family farms and historic landscapes to public parks and forests\, the work of The Land Trust has a lasting impact on people and places from Memphis to Mountain City. The organization has conserved 136\,000 acres of land since its founding in 1999 and is recognized for meeting the highest standards for excellence and conservation permanence. \nAbout Patagonia Nashville:\nThe forests\, rivers\, and mountain ranges brought us to Tennessee\, while the creative spirit of Nashville convinced us to stay. We’re located in a 1950s-era industrial warehouse in The Gulch\, a place steeped in railroad history\, but was the first LEED certified neighborhood in the South. With the help of local businesses and artists\, we’ve built a great store to host events\, support local environmental groups\, and outfit your explorations of Appalachia.

SUMMARY:Brown's Creek Cleanup with Patagonia Nashville
DESCRIPTION:AUGUST 26 @ 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM CDT\nOur waterways are like arteries and veins for the earth. \n\n\n\n\n Add to calendar
