Land Trust Celebrates Southeast Tennessee Landowners
Since the inception of The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Southeast Region Office in Chattanooga 6 landowners from that area have stepped up and protected lands that are so important to all Tennesseans’ way of life. To celebrate the successes in this area over the last year, the Mayfield Family was kind enough to not only protect their historic family dairy farm, still in operation today, but also to host a celebration there in honor of all the landowners in the Southeast Region who have given these amazing gifts to their region and their state.
The party was held in an historic barn and grain silo refurbished for use on special occasions such as these. The barn windows displayed a magnificent view of the newly protected 693 acre Mayfield Farm. The food was provided by a local restaurant and catering company while delicious Mayfield Dairy treats (of course!) made up the dessert menu. Hayrides around the property and bluegrass music from Hiwassee Ridge filled the evening air with the pleasant sounds of laughter and music. The evening was not only a great time, but also a wonderful way to thank all those in Southeast Tennessee who have saved something special for future generations in the region.
