Tragic Loss of Ned Lea
Dear Friend of The Land Trust for Tennessee

The Land Trust for Tennessee is deeply saddened by the recent loss of Edward ‘Ned’ Lea who tragically drowned while trying to help a neighbor during the recent floods in Middle Tennessee on May 1st, 2010. Ned, a resident of Leiper’s Fork, was a passionate volunteer of The Land Trust since our inception in 1999. He was truly dedicated to the land conservation cause, volunteering his own time and resources to spread the word about The Land Trust in Williamson County- he created banners to hang in Leiper’s Fork to publicize our protected lands, he went with staff members to visit with key legislators to encourage the passage of enhanced tax incentives for conservation, he wrote literature to distribute to landowners in his community and much, much more. Ned will be truly missed by The Land Trust and the greater community.
