The Land Trust for Tennessee Releases
"True Tennessee, Natual and Cultural Resources of the
Lick Creek Valley, Hickman County"

Lick Creek Book

Last summer, The Land Trust teamed up with New South Associates to inventory the natural and cultural resources of northeast Hickman County, specifically the Lick Creek and Leatherwood watersheds.

As with the Duck River Highlands Project of 2006 in Maury County, this project was directly funded by local landowners and a contribution from the Community Foundation of Middle TN.  Over several months, project staff David Price of New South and Doug Rodman of The Land Trust visited the county archives, libraries, and talked with many of the local landowners to compile the written and oral history of this unique area.  The result is a very enjoyable and educational book that establishes forever the conservation values of this rich land and the history of the people who call it home.  Whether or not you own land in Hickman County or elsewhere in Tennessee, this is a story that resonates for anyone who appreciates the natural splendor or colorful history of True Tennessee.  Copies are now available from The Land Trust for $20 plus shipping – call us today (615) 244-LAND or print out this order form.
